My theme, “Guard Your Heart,”  is based on the Bible Verse, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it,” (Proverbs 4:23 New International Version). My heart is what makes me the person I am, and it is what I use every time I am faced with making a decision. The one thing no one can ever take away from me is my heart, which is full of passion and empathy and is essentially my soul. One of the closest people I had in my life, was my grandmother and she was there for the first 12 years of my life. She was first diagnosed with heart disease on March 15th, 2002, and exactly a decade later, she died on March 15th, 2012, from cardiac arrest and suffered multiple heart attacks, as well as strokes. This garment is in tribute to the amazing woman she was, who worked at a hospital as a nurse for over 20 years and is the kindest person I had ever known
